Hey all!  A quick update on the  ‘going’s on” with me…

Max the Golden Retriever was the topic of a live on-air interview with a radio station in Perth, Australia on Thursday morning.  I’m not sure but I think Perth, Australia is a town somewhere on the other side of my beach….  I tried to sniff them out but all I could smell was fish… maybe the wind was too strong…

… Anyway, the radio station is called 720 ABC Perth and I was on the Breakfast show with a bloke named Eoin Cameron… I was on at about 6:20 am Perth time….

Turns out Eoin’s a dog person…. he doesnt’ have a golden, but has, as he describes it, a ”psycho Spaniel.”  He seemed real nice but he had this odd accent when he talked… I guess everyone can’t sound like a southerner from the US….. (fortunately for them)

Did anybody happen to hear it?  If you did how about being a good mate and drop me a comment to let me know.  I hope Molly the Poodle heard it…. He asked me about my crush on her so I had to fess up…. I’ll bet that will get me some points…

… okay, before I go I’ll fess up.  I’m not being completely honest… (tail between my legs) It wasn’t exactly ME that was on the radio, it was my person, Aubrey… can you believe he wouldn’t let me get a bark in edge wise?  Maybe he was scared that Eion only understands Spaniel?

Man oh man… I can’t image what cool thing is next for me?  Who knows, maybe I’ll show up on a t-shirt or one of those really cool oval decals?  I’ll keep my paws crossed…

Keep on Wagging!

ME YOU US by Bryony MooreJust when you thought you knew everything you wanted to know about Max it turns out there’s even more to know.

Max the Golden Retriever has now been immortalized as part of a work of art. That’s right, Max the Golden Retriever as Art. Who woulda thunk it?

Bryony Moore, an artist based in Manchester, England, created a work that explores man’s (and woman’s) relationship with animals. The artwork took the form of a booklet entitled ‘ME YOU US’ and was recently shown at Rogue Artists Studios in Manchester. Bryony says this piece is the starting point an ongoing online project.

You can view a PDF version of the whole booklet here or visit Bryony Moore’s website to see this and other art she has created.

Keep on Wagging!

Max the Golden Retriever visits Pawleys Island beach… sniff…. Sniff…. What is that smell? I don’t recognize it…. Sniff, sniff….. smells like coconut? Maybe I’m having coconuts for dinner… better check my food bowl…. Sniff… nope…. Same old chunks of food … man oh man…. Where is that coconut smell coming from…. Sniff…. Snifff…

Ah, hah! Found it….. it’s the boy… sniff.. and the man…. And the woman too?…. Weird… are my people turning into fruit? I know they act kind of fruity but if they turn into fruit what will happen to me? I mean, can a cocunut get treats from that jar in the pantry? Who’ll throw the tennis ball? This could be a seriously troubling development…. I mean coconuts are too big for me to carry around… maybe if they turned into apples… yeah, apples would be good…. About the size of a tennis ball… I could even carry all three of them around at the same time… but coconuts? I’ll have to keep a close watch on them… if I see them starting to turn brown I’ll know there is trouble coming….

… What a minute…. Is the boy getting my leash? YESSSS!!!!! Circle, circle, jump, jump….. outside time!!!! Oh, boy…. Maybe it’s time to find a new lake…. I mean, I haven’t been to the lake since we moved to this new doghouse… yeah, I know the people call it a people house, but since I live here I say it’s a dog house…. Besides… who took the time to mark a couple spots on the carpet when we moved into it? … I mean the boy dumped some of that bright red water he drinks on the floor, but the smell didn’t have nearly the staying power of MY marking… and the yard is definitely a dog yard… I’ve been sure to mark it everywhere…. I’ve only got a couple of spots left before I will have covered every spot in the yard…. I haven’t smelled any dogs in my yard yet, but when I do, they will definitely know they’re in MY yard…. Thanks to the folks at Purina, Max got another few seconds of fame recently.  This time his fame came in Times Square, New York.  As part of a promotion for Purina Dog Chow Max, along with some other Purina dogs, had their pictures displayed on a giant display on June 19th.  Here’s a snapshot of his big moment.   (click here for the full picture)
