First time attending this AKC Dog Show?  Here are some great tips provided by the Harrisburg Kennel Club.

Guidelines for Spectator Do’s and Don’ts:

• All parking should be accommodated at the Main Parking Lot at the Farm Show Building.  If the Main Lot is full, spectators should use the Reserve Parking Lot on Elmerton Avenue, to allow show participants with dogs use of the Main Parking Lot.  FREE Shuttle Service is provided from the Elmerton Lot.
• NO strollers in the show area for the safety of both child & dog. (A “stroller parking area” will  be provided inside the main entrance.)
• Ask the Handler before touching a dog.
• Dogs NOT entered in competition or NOT participating in a Show Event are PROHIBITED from entering the show grounds by AKC regulations.
• Retractable Leads are NOT permitted inside the building.
• Don’t reach into crates.
• Yes, it is okay to clap for a favorite in the show ring, but in Obedience wait until the end.
• If you have questions do come to the club desk and ask.
• The owner/breeder of your favorite dog is listed in the catalog.
• Please wait until AFTER the dog has competed in the ring to ask questions of the Handler.
