If you’re from around the NC or SC coast (or you’ve ever visited) then you probably have tried one of our favorite marine delicacies… Oysters.
We steam them, fry them, stew them. We eat them on the half shell, in soup, in casseroles and any other way we can get ‘em. To sum it up… we eat them and we love them. ( My favorite way to enjoy them is right out of the steam pot. Pry open the shell, add a drop or two of hot sauce and pop ‘em right into your mouth. Yum! Yum! )
And this weekend we’re going to celebrate them. That’s right, the cool months of the year are the perfect time for oysters which means it’s also the perfect time to gather with a whole bunch of friends (say 45,000 or so) and pay homage to the mighty mullusk.
North Carolina Oyster Festival
October 17-18. 2009
Museum of Coastal Carolina
Ocean Isle Beach, NC
This is the event’s 29th anniversary and you can enjoy live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, (including Keep On Wagging!) festival food, a road race, kid’s area, North Carolina Oyster Shucking Championships and an Oyster Stew Cook-off. And, of course, oysters, oysters and more oysters.
This will also be the Keep On Wagging! appearance at the NC Oyster Festival and we’re excited to be a part of it. The weekend weather forecast for Ocean Isle Beach is calling for perfect fall weather so we’re expecting big crowds. We’re bringing extra’s of one of our favorite designs, Keep On Wagging! at the Beach. We’ll have this and more great designs for dog lovers in t-shirts, long sleeve tees, hoodies and more. We’ll even have some of our new Holiday design on hand in ladies and adult cut long sleeves.
See you at Ocean Isle Beach!

I hate oysters!
