Yeah! After 3 days we finally found our little lost doggie’s people. The little doggie is named Calvin and his home is also in Pawleys Island.
Turns out that while we were looking for his people, his mom was looking for him. Fortunately we found each other so now Calvin is back home with his family.
Thanks very much to all our blog and twitter friends who posted and tweeted to try and help us find his home.
I do want to take this opportunity to point out how important it is to have your pets microchipped (even cats, although Max might disagree). Max has a HomeAgain chip that our vet installed on his first visit as a pup (hard to even remember Max as a pup…).
A veterinarian simply injects a tiny microchip about the size of a grain of rice beneath the surface of your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to a routine shot, takes only a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than he would to a vaccination. No anesthetic is required.
The microchip is encoded with your contact information. If your microchipped pet gets lost most animal control services, shelters or vets can scan your pet and quickly find you. Home Again also provides a collar tag that includes a code and toll-free number in case no scanner is available.
Again, thanks to all the dog lovers out there who offered up their blogs and twitter accounts to help.
And thanks to Max for patiently sharing his toys, food, treats and family with Calvin. His friends will not be surprised to know that Max was a great host (except for the time he sat on Calvin’s head… long story)
