Max has a Public Service Announcement
Published by Max November 14th, 2008…Tis the season to be wagging … wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag …
…Chasing squirrels and little kitties… wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag …
…Go and fetch some tennis balls now … wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag, wag …
… ahhh, it’s time to Celebrate the Season! … it’s also time to begin thinking about all the great things we have in our lives… like tennis balls, squeaky toys and squirrels to chase… and, most importantly, a home with people who love us…
Unfortunately, for lots and lots of dogs and cats the Season is just another time to wish they had a home… it’s sad, but the reality is that right now are as many as 8 Million homeless pets looking for a home in our country…
The problem is so extensive that as many as 4 million orphaned dogs and cats will be euthanized this year due to shelter overcrowding and lack of awareness about these homeless pets… sure makes me appreciate the life I lead… (and I guessing the life most of my blog friends lead…)
… but (Wag! Wag!) there is a way that I and all my friends can help this Holiday season… Iams (you know, the pet food people) is celebrating its 10th anniversary of Iams Home 4 the Holidays.
This program is supported by 1000’s of animal organizations worldwide who are dedicated to helping place orphaned dogs and cats into happy, loving homes. This year Iams Home 4 the Holidays hopes to place 1 million orphaned animals into homes this holiday season… that’s a lot of squirrels that better look out!
… any of you who are fans of the Desperate Housewives tv show will recognize one of the
programs more famous ambassadors, Felicity Huffman.. turns out in real life she’s a dog person too… cool… maybe ABC will let her have a puppy on Wisteria Lane???
… anyway, Iams and Felicity and lots of folks are working really hard to help out a whole bunch of orphaned dogs and cats this holiday season… the best part is that you can help too! A great way to help would be to spread the word about the program on your blogs… more blogs, more awareness, less homeless dogs and cats… (and that’s a good thing for everyone…) Or, just add a link to your blogroll to the ‘official Iams Home 4 the Holidays website.. (http://www.iamshome4theholidays.com)
… Or, and I know everyone will like this, how about grabbing a badge and displaying in on your website to show your support. (why do bloggers like badges so much anyway?) Heck, maybe you could even find a dog or cat near you who needs home and give them one. You can find a shelter near you by clicking here. I’m still working on my people… wouldn’t a little brother or sister be fun? I even promised that I would teach them the ropes… we’ll see…
… so as you’re enjoying the good life this holiday season, don’t forget about the dogs and cats that are less fortunate than us…
… Peace Out! oh, yeah… don’t forget to Keep On Wagging!
