Two New Canines throw Paws into K9P 2008 Ring
Published by Max October 23rd, 2008… Quick update on our appeal for K9P 2008 candidates…. Fortunately, the party continues to spread it’s wings, um, legs and is gaining momentum. We’ve just added a couple of new candidates to the Party.
Tuffy (Tuffy’s Official Campaign Website), a Chihuahua, has decided to run for the Presidential post. I’ve also heard that if he isn’t elected as President he may be willing to serve in the top post with Border and Immigration. On a related note, according to an unnamed source, Tuffy claims that the character of ”Papi” in the recently released movie ”Beverly Hill Chihuahua” was based largely on his life. He notes, of course, that the actor playing Papi is not nearly as handsome however the voice-overs by Andy Garcia are spot on.
To complete this ticket, Tuffy has, smartly I might add, joined with Rusty (Rusty’s Official Campaign Website) as his running mate and VP candidate. As you may be aware, Rusty is founder of Rusty’s Squirrel Patrol. Some press reports have indicated that Rusty could also be considered for the Attorney General post if not elected given his tireless efforts to chase down dirty rotten scoundrels (you know, squirrels…) [In full disclosure, I should notify readers that I am also a member of the Squirrel Patrol]
Tuffy and Rusty have released some of the major points of their platform covering a range of social and economic issues:
-
No doggy treats shipped in from China, NEVER
-
Tuesdays will be “give a dog a treat day”
-
There will be no such thing as a chained dog … we will outlaw this
- Workplaces will start to allow humans to take their pet to work so we won’t get lonely
The platform also addresses some pressing Human concerns like rising food prices:
-
Milk $1.00 a gallon
-
Bread $.25 a loaf
-
Gas $.50 a gallon
-
Eggs $.10 a carton
A spokesperson for the Donkey Party discounted Tuffy’s and Rusty’s platform as pandering to potential voters. The spokesperson was quoted as saying the K9P 2008 candidates were simply trying to ’thrown humans a few bones’ with the commodity price stabilization recommendation.
In response a Canine Party 2008 spokesperson noted: “The inclusion [of food prices] will undoubtedly be seen by historians as a brilliant strategic move since only humans can vote (for now…).” He further added that the Candidates do not anticipate any tax or treat increases to fund their initiatives. He even suggested that if humans ‘walked’ their dogs to work the initiatives would not only address the lonely pet issue but could also address pressing environmental issues.

3 cheers for taking your dog to work! Did you know that there’s actually companies out there that have policies against this, making it impossible to even go to work on the National Take Your Dog To Work Day??? They let those two legged pups in for special days, but not us? I sure hope the K9P 2008 can fix this inequality!
Wonderful! Thanks for the great PR! You have taken our platform and our ideals and presented them here in a very readable manner! You’re the best!

I think this is much better than humans trying to run things. We’re much smarter!
Woof!
