… it’s almost here and I’m so excited I think I might piddle just a little bit….by the way, does anyone know what that’s all about?… the anxious dog piddle I mean…. sure I guess it makes sense for the little dogs, like my friend Chiquillo… no ’playa hatin’ intended here but some of them shake so much that it’s no wonder a
little piddle drips out from time to time…
But sometimes even big dogs like us Golden Retrievers get so excited or nervous that we piddle a little… And let me tell you as a big dog it is soooooooo embarrassing…..like one time at the vet…. well that’s a story for another time….
Right now I’m talking about my new Keep on Wagging!™ newsletter and more importantly why you haven’t signed up for it yet… (if you have then …Bark! Bark! Wag, Wag…. Lick, Lick… Circle, Circle…. Thank you! … but keep on reading…)
Yep, that’s right… apparently you haven’t heard but I’m going to have my very own newsletter. Not sure what you have been doing lately to miss the news… maybe chasing squirrels around like my new friend Rusty? Squirrel Patrol! Squirrel Patrol! (did you get the joke? Taylor Hicks from American Idol, ’Soul Patrol’, ‘Squirrel Patrol’ – sometimes I crack my self up…) and talking (typing) about squirrels, ‘squirrel’ is a hard word to spell… is it ‘rr’ or ‘ll’ or ‘nut nut’… what ever would a blogging dog do without spell checker?
Or maybe a new cat has moved into your neighborhood and you’ve been devising a sinister plot and that’s kept you from signing up … Hey, matter of fact, if you do have a good plot let me know… I’ve got a new neighbor cat, Pumpkin (can you guess what color she is?), who has figured out I can’t get past the glass door so she is trying to torment me from my porch…. grrrrrrrr…
Anyway, back on track, it turns out there’s a bunch of interesting stuff about me, my friends and other dogs (and cats and snakes too) that doesn’t make it onto my website. My newsletter is going to be filled with some cool new stuff that you’ll only get to read if you subscribe to it.
For instance, I’ve got some great stories to share… Like the time I had an ‘accident’ at the vet but it really wasn’t an accident at all. And I’ll share some of my best tips like how how to distinquish a squirel from a crab when you’re chasing one down the beach… (and man oh man are they different) … Oh, yeah, and there may even be some tips for your people…
And, maybe even better than my original stuff I’ve got some great friends who are going to share new things with our readers (you? I say sheepishly…). In the first edition alone I’m planning on having new and unique content from a book author, a dog magazine publisher, a rescued Golden and even a certified trainer. You don’t want to miss out on that do you? I’ll even help your people have a couple of extra bucks to spend on you by sharing some ‘secret’ deals on stuff like pet toys (YEAH!!!) and pet meds (YUCK!!!).
…oh, yeah, if you happen to be reading this and you’re a person I guess you could spend the extra bucks on yourself (no matter how much your loyal best friend deserves a new squeaky toy) … I have to admit though that I can’t imagine why a person would read this website… okay, well maybe if your animal can’t read… but otherwise I have to just tilt my head to the side in complete lack of comprehension at your reason for being here… [note to self: insert gratitous Subscribe Now link here later]
… Oh, you say it’s because the writing is so darn funny, witty and charming? And it gives you great insight into your person/animal relationship… And you’re not sure how you’d get through the day without a quick Max blog fix? …Well when you put it that way it makes sense… how could you not be here reading this?
So… long story short, I’m starting a newsletter to share with all my friends and if you haven’t already signed up you need go ahead and do it right now… it’s okay, I’ll wait while you click right here to sign up… thump, thump, thump (that’s my wagging tail hitting the table beside me with lots of fragile thing on top of it) …seriously, go ahead… I’ll wait… thump, thump…
… okay… that’s long enough… I have to guess that you’ve had plenty of time to click the link and give me your email address so I’ll wrap this up and say I look forward to sending you the first newsletter very soon (notice how many times I included a link to the signup page? Pretty slick, huh? …)
Keep on Wagging! (and subscribing)
Max
By the way, I have a LOT of friends who create some pretty cool stuff on their own websites and blogs. I would really like to be able to share some of their original stuff with my friends. So, if you (or your person) would like to be a regular or occasional contributor to the Keep on Wagging!™ newsletter give me a bark at max@maxthegoldenretriever.com.

You have reason to piddle, Max! Your newsletter is coming out and you should be proud and very excited! I’m really looking forward to reading it.
Mayra
Max, can’t wait to read your first news letter. Very exciting!
Kathy
Max, congrats on your newsletter. I just signed up for it and can’t wait for the first issue.
Maybe one day I’ll have my own newsletter. Us dogs must keep in touch with whats goin’ on in the doggie world.
How cool! You’re own newsletter! Mom signed me up so I can read it. I was wondering if I could take the KOW tag and put it in my sidebar with a link back here?
Barklove,
Rusty
