Dear Mittens,

Thanks for stopping by. I should tell you though that I have a chew toy that looks like a cat... and it only has two legs left... I'm just saying....

(Sorry if that scares or offends any of my cat friends... I really wouldn't eat you... well, okay, if I could catch you I might take just a LITTLE nibble... just to see what all the fuss is about. You'd Probably just taste like chicken anyway :>)--

Hey Max!

Love your blog. Its truly a unique perspective, and coming from someone who sits in an office all day, a life I am envious of (minus the deer poop thing). Hope you have another great week and finally find that rabbit.

Hey Max!
You just visited a lake. I ,on the other hand,am in a train with my friends and I'm going for my yearly vacation! Now, tell me how many dogs actually get to go on a vacation(too many you say ?!!)I am travelling between states in a closed compartment with my Sapien friends who sleep on their pristine berths.Well, they are kind enough to put paper all over the floor so I stay clean. But I end up having chewed up all the news by the end of my journey(keeps me up to date!).And then in my vacation home ,there is this really country kinda dog(doesn't know how we city folks live). He is a mix between a fox and a donkey!!Believe me!And BTW, the donkey part is between his ears.he could use some training or the sapien species would put all of us in the same mould.
Anyway,Max,it's good to be able to tell someone about my life.I miss conversations(Bow Wow).

Djembe,

Man is my face red… well, okay, I know my face really can’t turn red, but hopefully you get the point. Somehow I (actually my person) overlooked your photo. Never fear though, it’s there now and I even added you to my Friends' links.

Maybe my people will let me go to the next football game… as for futbol? I’ve eaten two of the boy’s futbols (although he calls them soccer balls) so I know all about that game…

Keep Wagging!

Hi Max!
I love going to the lake!! My humies take me to a vrry cool puppy park in Burrnsville MN that has a little pond that i can swim in before it gets too gooey and full of duck weed in the summer- but my most favorite place to go when i am there is beyond the back gate of the park. There is a nice big lake back there that i can swim in for hours almost as long as my m-o-m can chuck a ball. One time she chucked a ball for me and it landed on a pontoon boat!! i almost tried to swim after it but the nice people threw it back and laughed. We met them again when we were there another time. The pontoon people will throw the ball back to me if they see me. My boy and grrls get to swim with me there, too! It is certainly alot nicer than going to "the beach" and having to swim with my leash on. Plus, my m-o-m says i am a vrry social grrl and sometimes i get in trouble when i romp around the "No Dogs Allowed" area ( how would i know what the sign says?!?! I am a dog- dogs do not read!) and say Howdy do Neighbor. Some people don't like that. Oh well... ooh ooh one more month and i get a dogblog too-- is that a good thing? I hope it comes with a treat dispenser.

Love and licks
Rippi RoOo

PS i saw squirrel again- he is vrry anti social and should not be allowed on a beach either! Hmph!

Dear Max,

I love your blog and your fun pictures! I'm an author and I'm donating 50% of my royalties to a golden retriever rescue and sanctuary. Would you help me spread the word?

Here's the press release. Thanks, Max!
Best,
Mayra

April 15, 2007
For Immediate Release: not time sensitive

Author Donates 50% Royalties to Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary
(Saint Louis, MO – April 15, 2008) -- We are pleased to announce that one of our authors, Mayra Calvani, is donating 50% of her royalties from her latest book, CRASH! to Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary, a non-profit organization in Delray, WV.
CRASH! is a children’s picture book for ages 2-6 about a little boy and his golden retriever puppy.
Blurb:
Marcelo is thrilled when he gets a golden retriever puppy for his birthday, but now he faces one of the toughest jobs of his life, not only because owning a pet is a huge responsibility, but because he has to find the perfect name for it—and that’s hard!
“As the proud owner of a golden retriever myself, I know how special these sensitive and amazingly intelligent dogs can be,” says the author. “I wanted to do something about those poor goldens in need who have been abandoned or are in some way ‘unadoptable’ by ordinary standards. At Almost Heaven no golden retriever is turned away, no matter its age or condition. I think what this organization is doing is admirable, and I want to be a part of it. The money donated will be used for food, medications, bedding, toys, etc.. One little kind act at a time, that’s all it takes to make a difference.”
The author first came acquainted with Almost Heaven after reading Dean Koontz’s novel, The Darkest Evening of the Year and subsequently doing a search online for dog rescue organizations. “Koontz’s novel, whose protagonist runs one of these rescues, touched me at a deep emotional level,” says Calvani. “When I stumbled across Almost Heaven, I felt an immediate, almost preternatural connection. Not to mention the interesting coincidence that my book is published under Guardian Angel’s ‘Littlest Angels’ imprint, and Almost Heaven’s logo sports a golden retriever with an angel’s halo. That’s too many angels!”
