… what’s a dog park? You’re kidding right? You’ve never been to the dog park? … that’s the coolest place…. the dog park is where I get to run around and play with my friends like my buddy Rambo… yeah, I think it was after the movie… you saw it? I think I missed it… I don’t think it’s shown on Animal Planet…. Oh, on the Outdoor channel? ….I’ll check it out when I get home ….

… anyway, get this…. at the dog park…NO LEASH!… what’s a leash? Seriously, you’re kidding. You don’t have to wear a leash? How do you go to the nature park without a leash… oh, woods, fields, pond… okay that sounds like fun too… sniff, sniff, circle, circle… I could get used to the country… no leashes… everywhere is like the nature park….

So what do “you’ll” country dogs do for fun? … “you’ll…” you know like, you guys… I heard it on TV once…. Ohhhhhh…. “ya’ll” … man, is my tail between my legs… okay, what do ya’ll do for fun? “Huntin” what’s that? … No way, you don’t say… how do you pull the trigger with your paws? Oh, the people pull it… yeah, that makes more sense…. Deer? Is that like a squirrel? Oh, that big, huh? By the way, have you seen those cows next door? Huge… I think the people were a little scared of ‘em…. Oh, you saw me running behind the barn… okay, there goes my tail between my legs again…

Sure, we hunt in the city but I guess we just call it chasing… once I almost caught a rabbit…. Nah… it got away… beat me to the fence… and there’s the tabby cat a couple doors down… sometimes it sneaks into the fence… yeah… you should see it run… HA! HA! … run it up a tree? I’ve never tried that… thanks for the suggestion… And did I mention tennis balls?

We chase… I mean “hunt” tennis balls all the time… what do we do with them when we catch them? Duh… we give ‘em back to the people so they can throw them again… what else? The next time? Sure we give ‘em back again, so they can throw them again… I don’t know how long it could go on…. I’ve never tried to stop….

So have you got any friends in the country? Blue…. hound dog… uh, huh… good sniffer you say? Scooter… yeah, sounds like a nice dog… and… Oh… sorry to hear that… so Scooter actually caught the car…. Ouch.  I always wondered what would happen if you ever caught one.  I better let my friend Mogley know about this when I get back…

what’s that smell… sniff, sniff … I think the people are “fixin” to eat… come on, let’s go inside and hang around the table so we can grab whatever the boy drops… What? You don’t go inside? Where do you live? … A dog house… you’re kidding me… Does it have AC? … no carpet either? … maybe this whole country thing might not exactly be my cup of tea after all…. no, it’s just a saying…. I’d be afraid the caffine would make me miss a nap…
